I am posting this article from Canada's news Gazette (written July 25, 2008), about the government's refusal to give the delegates of the WYC in Quebec City, in August 10 to 21st 2008. Most of this delegates who are being refused came from 3rd world country.

People from the 3rd world country embraced the policy from the west in regards to human social rights justice. It is indeed a paradox that the government who support this congress is refusing to hand the delegates their visas. Where is the social justice for the youth? Yet here we are from the west; preaching social justices, and rights, are the very people who are violating the rights of the youth.

This is just absurd. Give the youth a chance to voice their opinions and to be heard, but you the Canadian government are taking away their chance to participate in this positive event in their lives? Come on now, this is a slap in the face.

Are we becoming a paranoid society in regard to people that comes from the 3rd world country?
I would like TIG members to comment on this.

Dear I am fully agree with you that Canadian embassy not much cooperative with people from third world and I think the reason behind that that all youth around third world looking for immigration and they are dealing with their program by very hard ways.
I don’t know when the head of Quebec hosting this big event and the conidian embassies don’t care about that so I have many questions:-

1- The 4th youth congress it’s international event, so because it’s in Canada, do Canada has the rights to say no for people already invited for this congress just because it’s in Canada “I can say its her right to take care about its security” but why they are sending an invitations for people from third world while they are going to refuse them?
2- If really the Canadian looking for developing the third world and wana be sure that they are making progress in their lives in democracy and human right. This approach dealing with youth from third world completely against what they talking about (human rights) ?
3- I don’t how the western countries wants to decrees extremes behaviors while they pushing the youth in the third world in the coroner by no let them participate in international events, and develop their capacities regarding cultural exchange. In the same youth in the third world they very strong model of active youth in the hall world, they are implementing a lot of voluntary work and they are doing hard to help their societies?

I would like to ask Canadians embassy to show more respect to the people in the third world under human rights umbrella. And to know that we loves our homes and not all of us wana leave and remember that a lot they wana leave their home because they are in the corners.

I believe that the youth who are invited to the WYC should sign a petition. It is inhumane solution to put out the candle that is burning for youth acitivist for the congress. Youth from the 3rd world country have the same rights as the youth from the west to be heard.

Yes it is the duty for the host country to secure their border. However, it does not coincide the discussion for human rights and solution to fight the rights of the youth from the 3rd world country to be heard.

It is a menace to feel small because you are a youth from a 3rd world country. It is a menace to feel uninvited to a world event like the "World Youth Organization."

Youth from the 3rd world country also has the brain and the empowerment to bring justice, peace, and rights, if they are given the chance.

Youth from the 3rd world country has the right to voice their opinions, and to amend change for a better world.

To be rejected for the event although invited, is a menace and injustice to be heard.

Is Canadian government becoming a phobic society as well? Afraid that the youth will not return to their country after the event? They were invited for the congress because they are the kind of youth who can bring change to their respective country.

Come on Canada give the youth the chance.
